Free Poems to Accompany Gifts

Jul. 30, 2016

We wanted to send you a gift

That truly would give you a lift,

            But we didn’t know

            What would make you glow

Or cause a family rift!

In matters of home and heart,

It’s important to get a good start.

              So here’s some money

              To share with your honey

To take to the bank or the mart!

 A Birthday “Grant”

(Ulysses S., that is)

This “Grant” is for you

To use as you wish

To buy yourself something

That’s birthday-ish.

Perhaps a nice dinner

Will just hit the spot

Or a book or CD

That’s currently hot.

A wonderful day

Is wished for you--

And health and good fortune

     The whole year through!

CHOCOLATE

When you're low and feeling blue,

Or if you have too much to do,

CHOCOLATE is the thing for you!

If you're tired and feeling stressed

And cannot seem to get your rest,

CHOCOLATE will restore your zest!

The way it works I can't define,

But if your palate is like mine,

You'll agree--CHOCOLATE's divine!

So for your birthday celebration

Here's a CHOCOLATE taste sensation.

Enjoy this tasty inspiration!

Note:  This poem would be appropriate for other occasions, also.  Just change "birthday" to Christmas or Valentine's Day, etc.
